James Cross Giblin

James Cross Giblin was Paul Galdone’s editor for many years, first at The Seabury Press and later at Clarion Books. Working closely, they produced many of Galdone’s most enduring picture books. Giblin would make regular visits to the studio to confer on future projects and to view work in progress. Giblin’s judicious editing enhanced the readability of the traditional tales that Galdone chose for his books, bringing the texts more up to date in their language and sensibilities. Giblin has gone on to become a prolific author of books for young people.
